Barbara King Hooper, CEO

Barbara King Hooper, RN, MScN, CDE, CDTC founded Kinghooper Diabetes Education to educate health professionals and laypeople alike about all aspects of diabetes care and management.

Barbara is a registered nurse and a certified diabetes educator. She has served on the national executives of both the Diabetes Educator Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association, and the Canadian Diabetes Educator Certification Board. She has a proven track record of effective patient education, continuing education workshops, diabetes education program development and evaluation, and health-related research. Barbara’s extensive experience and expertise as a nurse and health educator in inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, long-term care, and native community settings allow her to provide a comprehensive, innovative course for health professionals wanting to learn about diabetes education. Her clients include major pharmaceutical companies, Health Canada, and tribal councils.
